The Microfinance Competence Centre (MCC) has been established within the PNG Institute of Banking and Business Management (IBBM) through the PNG-ADB Microfinance Project

IBBM is an Association, incorporated under the PNG Associations Incorporation Act. Established in 1965, it provides extensive training and development services in banking, finance, business and management throughout PNG and the Pacific region

The purposes of MCC include coordinating the training needs of MFIs, liaising with IBBM to effect training placements, administer microfinance distance learning project, allocate subsidies, liaise with donor agencies and negotiate microfinance aid funds, manage aid funds and other business relevant to the best interest of the centre and the microfinance industry

The Institute is committed to enhancing the knowledge and skills of the people of Papua New Guinea towards improving personal performance, work and career opportunities, organisational productivity, common wealth and the achievement of National development goals. Accordingly it will not allow its professional standards to be compromised and, within commercial viability, will strive to maintain the finest quality of client service
